My other halves, 03 Beetle cab is in VW for its service today and investigation into roof issue; see this thread
http://www.evvo.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=23672

Already had a call saying exhaust needs a weld- which I was kind of expecting, just so nervous about the roof!

Words of encouragement welcome!

Thanks Stuart, I just rang about Kelz car and they took 15 mins to chase round the workshop to finally come back and say "oh we haven't started yet!"
When I said that meant it obviously won't be getting finished today then they got quite arsey and said they couldn't see why not!
We will see! :headbang:

Well they finally phoned- and guess what car not done- service complete and their summary of the roof- it doesn't work!!!!!! Needs to go back for two days work- despite me saying they needed to diagnose he roof first then I could give the go ahead on the work while it was in!!
Lady on desk tried blaming the workshop, not their fault and as an apology they have halved the labour cost when it goes back in, and will pick it p and drop off a loan car! Not bad for a short rant. will keep you posted on how it goes next week!

One of my pet hates with putting the car in anywhere - lack of communication and then the dealer/indy pi$$ing you around with stories.

Feel for you mate... that sucks

+1

Thanks guys- good outcome financially but just wanted to give Kel her car back working and done, she looks so fed up at the min when the sun shines and she cant drop the roof!

Bummer for the roof issue, but didnt know vw had problems with their roofs too. hope u get it fixed, mate

cheers craig- seems like the roof fix on a beetle is way more complex than the z- hence not trying it myself! Fingers crossed for an affordable repair

well the beetle been picked up at 8 this morning and courtesy car delivered. More arse twitching for the next two days!

I am amazed that the VW roof failed, I have not heard of that one before. My 1993 Clipper is still working great, but is quite simple with a hydraulic pump system and a roof motor that is not exposed to anything unlike the BMW :)

It is a massivly complex job to repair, the back end of the car needs stripped- seats, seat belts, rear quarter panel etc. Just hope its a simple fix!
