Nervous handling

I have just bought a 2007 z4 coupe and have started to notice the handling is a little nervous after around 40mph.

Anyone else had this? If so what was the fault?

Thanks for any help

Have a look at the thread a bit further down entitled 'suspension upgrade' - it'll elude to what could be the problem, or things you need to check.

In summary:

Tyre conditions
Tyre pressures
Tyre brands
Alignment
Front lower arm bushes
Rear trailing arm bushes

+ broken springs - a very common problem.

Yes I am running run flats (soon to be rid of though)
On 45000 today!
But will check the other bits.

Pressures were a little lary this morning but straightened them out and not really much better.

Most of us change to non run-flats and this improves the tram-lining, steering and ride.

It took me some time to get used to the steering of my Zed - changing to non run-flats did help as did familiarisation - it becomes part of the character of the car. Need both hands on the wheel at high speed and on cornering though.

Let us know how you get on.

The z4 is a fairly agile car & communicates camber changes/bumps etc through the steering wheel-all the above mentioned points improve it (especially the tram lining) but depending on what car you have come from you might just need to get used to less "dead" steering-it is a slightly "nervy" feeling car :driving:
