Neighbours

Neighbours annoying me.
We have a huge shared driveway parking. Last week someone visiting another flat had taken my spot and I had a train to catch so I parked near the flat wall, safest and most practical place to park without blocking the driveway or any other cars since. I did ring up a few flats to try and find whose Auris it was and if they could move it before leaving a note on it.

Came back after a few days and a neighbour had put a note on the zed saying this isn't the parking spot for your vehicle and to park at the flat's spot I'm visiting! Outrageous. They've clearly seen the zed here and me and know I love here and where I normally park in my spot. Clearly not visiting anyone and obviously someone would've been in my spot. Arghh.

Btw there is a 4x4 that visits someone that regularly parks in my spot and leaves late night which does bug me but I never complained even though it could park next to my spot, rathe than in it.

Ok rant over.

Maybe you need a lockable bollard or even just a cone to protect your space ???

Either that or just block the offender in and leave a note on it, making them come and find you. Then you'll know who it is and can explain politely that its your space and not to use it in the future...

It's annoying when that happens re someone taking your space and I cannot abide people not answering their door when clearly they are in and someone knows they've parked where they shouldn't. Generally it's only good manners to leave a note on the dash with either a number or to let you know where they are visiting incase they need to move their care.

I confront people like that and recently after one was being a right dick I let their tyres down. I must add this was not a visitor but someone abusing the parking where I live so they could go to their work, hoping to have missed the warden that patrols it. Unlucky for them I'm an absolute cee you next Tuesday when it comes to residents parking. Visitors it's fine but folk abusing it because they work near by that's a no no. If they find it so inconvenient maybe they should move nearer work where they don't need a car, take a bus or train or find a job where car parking comes as standard.

I don't think they would like it if I went and parked on their drive just because I felt like it so they shouldn't be parking in my space or anyone else's for that matter.

I'm also very good at working out where people work and finding them on company websites etc which makes it even better for the parking folks to locate these people and let them know they've a little surprise waiting in the form of a ticket.

Haha I need your help Angie.

Tbh I had never seen that car before and since we are quite central I'm told that random people do park on or drive sometimes and then go to town. I could've blocked it but it would've been blocked for 5 days..and I was not that unkind. I did leave a note on it saying if you're going to take someone's spot then you should have the courtesy to leave a number.

Anyway I don't know which neighbour left the note on the zed but I would like to explain why I had to park so there. Or offer them a choice, to block their visitors for days or not. Tbh I can't block them in without blocking the entrance to the driveway. Even though we have a separate exit which is usually blocked by other smaller cars so half of us use the entrance and the other half the exit.

I've blocked someone for a short period of time but have been sat in the car until they come shift it and there's always the issue that the person might not give two hoots and just hit your car and yes 5 days is way too long lol.

The worst bit is, the person who has probably left it possibly was the person being visited or someone who likes to think they are doing a good turn but actually have paid no attention to their neighbours and the cars coming and going. The same people that would ask if anyone saw someone or something if any was to happen to their property.

I really do feel your pain.

Haha ony if it didn't mean risking the zed in return.

On a cheerful note, some of my friends had sent me a present while I was gone. :)

last person that blocked my driveway got their car dragged into the middle of a very wet grass football park, no issues for my Jeep, but they had plenty trying to get back out!

they never blocked me again funnily enough, I can't stand arseholes like that...

:headbang: :headbang:

I too have the same problem from time to time. I have some very nice A4 home made permanent adhesive stickers which highlight the inconsiderate drivers inconsiderate parking and which I have great pleasure in placing on their side windows. Believe me it when I say that it does take at least 20 minutes per sticker to remove all traces, which hopefully will make them think twice :D

Maybe I should get some snow spray? I didn't really have time other than to ring a few flats as I had to catch a train. There aren't any numbers on our side of the driveway but its understood where everyone parks and I'm not really familiar with whose car belongs to which flat.

I know from my flatmate when I take the zed away with me for a few days or so that some of the other neighbours do use my spot. I did leave my key and could've asked a friend to move the zed when my spot was free but I don't really like other people to drive my car.

Whatever happened to nice, friendly neighbours?

Jeeps are good .......
In that last snowy winter, someone thought it was a good idea to park in my driveway and stop me getting out in the morning, left their car in a huge snowdrift lol

I'm 99% sure that whoever has put the note on the car knows your car usually parks in its spot and possibly thinks you just can't be arsed to move it not actually knowing your not there :headbang: I'm sure they would of had the time to ring round the other properties and discovered why it was there via your flat mate.

I would actually ring round the flats to find out who it was and to thank them got being so observant and explain why the car was where it was.

Time for a BMW parking only sign lol

i live on an un adopted road, there is a doctors surgery on the corner of the street, soooooooooooo many nights some idiot blocks the road whilst just nipping into the doctors :headbang:

I just park up behind them and block them in, its up to them to come and find me then

Neighbours do my head in

Personally I wish I lived in the middle of a field with no neighbours

+1

Was thinking this the other day ironically enough. However, someone would still p$ss me off by messing with my boundary!

We've got a sign at work that says "POLITE NOTICE, This is Private Property" but when you quickly glance at it, you actually think it says POLICE!!!!!
