Negative reaction to the Zed by spectators?

Like Carol, I've only ever had positive comments on my zeds, well apart from the sexual gesticulations, but I take that as a compliment!

I would take your case as just two underachievers with inferiority complexes have a bad day and taking it out on anybody the want....plebs

I just believe that it was lacking something of the ls variant that caused them so much distress.

I get ALOT and I mean a s**t load of abuse because I'm young! People shouting daddy's car, spoilt brat coming up to me and shouting at me. Jibes and digs on a regular basis. I'm 19 I tried hard and did really well at school, got a cracking job AND work weekends, my parents didn't put a penny towards my car I bust my balls for it but everyone just has a go at me..... When ever I go to the chivvy car meets with my mates golfs Saxons corsas I get ton but you know what.... I love it

The fact people shout and get angry is because they are usually a lot older and in some crap dead end job and are jealous of my car. Every shout is like a compliment because I know they are thinking that car is soo nice how is he driving that?!

I usually just smile and respond with you should have worked harder at school to all the spoilt kids and daddies car digs :poke:

I've been driving a Z4 pretty much as a daily drive since 2003 and while I am sure there were individuals that had very negative feelings but I've never encountered anyone that has expressed them to me.

I think some of the jealousy may be due to them having wives or girlfriend that won't let them have the car of their dreams. Also jealous of the freedom you have with it, more often than not as a second or third car.

They were just itching for a fight, probably drunk, and you did the right thing walking away.

However, remotely putting the top down before getting in the car must have tipped them over the edge. Only a hairdresser would do that.
 :poke:

It's just banter :)

Its life i guess. I would ignore other peoples bs, lifes too short.

You're the better man for not rising to their taunts.

I must admit since I've got the Z4 I've had no end of idiots driving up my arse, normally 40+ year olds in TDCI Focus's like they have something to prove?

I once had a woman come over to admire the car, told me she had one just like it .....
Enthusiastically I asked if hers was an M series too ......
She said, no ....... Its red.

Tbh.... Apart from the odd Audi or 4x4 driver, people are far more courteous to me in the zed. A friend of mine, that I gave a lift to a conference to, was the first to point this out. I get let out at junctions and given right of way a lot, people acknowledge when I do the same for them, etc. . Work colleagues and friends have been complimentary, and strangers have admired/talked to me about the car on a number of occasions. Maybe it's different for girls ?

P.s. as for the people who want to race, generally I just let them get in with it, which is far more disappointing to them. The funniest was a Prius at some traffic lights yesterday.....

I find that too, especially on the motorway. Cars pull over from the outside lane, even Audis, to let me past. The only car that doesn't, always seems to be a Nissan Quashqai (usually white). Maybe they are asleep, own the outside lane or just can't see a Zed low down in their blind spot :D

Not worth the aggro, well done for putting it behind u

I did have a leggy brunette bend down, look through the window and declare she was single to me, so I've had mixed reactions actually :D

Shame the missus was walking towards the car :/ :D :fuelfire:

Remember:

Tells you more about them than it does about you. . .

Gonna meet folk like that from time to time. . . Good choice to ignore and avoid.

Continue to enjoy your Zed with the rest of us!

:driving:

I suppose so. Maybe it would be safer to own the coupe. But then, there's no fun in that, Rialas... :poke:
