Need to replace front tyres - which brand do you recommend

I have a 2004 Z4 3.0i with the stock Bridgestone tyres. The front tyres have worn to a point where they will need to be replaced soon. They are run flats and I would like to stick with run flats for now (I know there is plenty of debate in other topics about switching to normal but lets park that for time being)

Should I get the bridgestones again or would a different manufacturer be an improvement. Michelin PS2s seem to be a favourite on the forum. Will these help reduce tramlining

Does it matter that the fronts will be a different make to the rear
Should i stick to 225/40/18 88 tyres or is there a benefit to getting a different size/profile. Will a different size even fit?

Finally where shall i get them from. Camskill and Event Tyres seem to be popular. Convenience of having someone coming to me to fit them would be a benefit - I know Event Tyres can do this.

Thanks in advance

Hi pg1981. A quick search will reveal all your answers.

Forum favs are

Falken 452s
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

Michelin PS2s are very good. But cost the earth. You choose sir, you choose :)

Thanks for the recommendations. The Falkens and Vredesteins dont appear to be run flats though

I am basically limited to the major manufacturers (bridgestone, goodyear, michelin etc) if i insist on these

£1059 all in supplied and fitted by my Dealer ( roughly same as Micheldever /Protyres who I use as yardstick )
I am not into buying online and all that entails

the PS2's are undoubtedly expensive, but they last ALOT longer than the standard bridgestones....

for example, the bridgestone;s lasted about 9-10k miles on my car which had new tyres on the rear when I bought it.

PS2's rear lasted ~17k miles before replacement.... fronts were still going after ~23k miles when I sold it.

I never experienced tramlining on the PS2's while it was a dog on the standard bridgestones, and the handling and ride was simplky transformed - even mrs gannet noticed

some of the other make such as Pirelli are getting favourable mention too.

About to invest in vreds in the next couple of days (but for the back wheels). Currently running on falken 452.

Just need to wear out my current ones... How do I turn off all driver aids again? Kidding! That buttons toooo easy to find! Going to have a fun weekend:)
