Need to Raise Front by 10mm. Any suggestions?

Hi all,

Having solved the problem with the rear wheels rubbing on H&R lowering springs by putting in a thicker, 14.5mm upper spring seat/pad, having driven the car today properly for the first time since fitting I'm now getting bad rubbing on the front.

Does anyone know the part number for thicker spring seats/pads for the front of an e85, or have any other suggestions to raise the front by about 10mm?

Thanks for your help.

Use Eibachs  H & R ride well from past experience but drop 10mm below others & that 10mm can be 10mm too much

Could I leave the H&Rs on the back and just replace the fronts with Eibach?

You can get 10mm rubber spring seats which are a BMW part. Can't find the number, but 'think' it was for a 7 series or something. Mine came from BMW spares department in Lithuania as usual :D . Local dealer said out of stock and none available.
I put these on the Eibachs I had fitted and helped with ride height as preloads the spring a bit more. It doesn't scuff the liners and gives me the Msport ride height, which I prefer, due to speed humps and clearance round me but with more progressive springs.
If I find the part number ( and I have looked this afternoon to no avail) I will let you know.

Fit different springs.

Everything else is a bodge

I'm with you, but having spent money already putting 14.5mm upper spring seats/pads on the back, are you 100% sure if I remove these thicker spring seats from the back, replace for original 5mm, and replace the springs all round with Eibach front and back, that will solve the problem?

Totally no offence to you buddy but there's a lot of dodgy advice going around, and I've followed a bit of it and it's cost me a fair few quid so I'm just trying to get a definitive answer.

Will a e85, on Eibach lowering springs, with 255/35/19 rear, offset 35, and 225/35/19 front, offset 39.... not rub?

If so I'll spend the cash.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks so much mate, if you can find that part number that would be much appreciated as I'm really struggling to find it myself. :headbang:
