well ive found myself in abit of a situation. i was driving to get my daughter from school on tuesday gone and left work around 3clock, the water board are replacing some pipe work just down from where i work and the road is controlled by traffic lights because one side is closed. theyve dug quite a stretch of road up thing was there was this well to give you i idea of size bolder in the middle of the late which i didnt see til last minute due to the flow of traffic there were 2 vehicles in front of me british gas van and a bmw x5 directly i front so both these vehicles have high clearance missing this rock because of the late sighting and no where to go and couldnt help but hit it, bouncing off everything under the car.
The company doing the work are fast flow on behalf of Northumbrian water. I didnt stop straight away which i know i should have due to the fact i was getting my daughter from school and didnt want to be late... but i also knew i was travelling back up the road within the hour of collision which uve guessed no one was there when i went back down with my boss who seen it happen in the car behind me, to check for damaged road surface which there was and the rock that had been in the road which was there also. I phoned the number on the barriers and spoke to someone explained what had happened they logged my incident and told me some one would be in touch the next day which they didnt so i phoned them.
they eventually told me i had to claim through my insurance which is i process and car is getting a estimate tomorrow (monday 19th) at 2clock to see what damage has been caused my concern is my excess is £600 which i hadnt realised and i might not win the case because even tho in my eyes ive got a strong case its 50/50 whether it will go in my favour.
The damage is cosmetic from what i can see but until they get it on the ramps who knows what else is wrong.
Am not sure whether to proceed with the claim because i could be out of pocket for something that might not of caused that much damage apart from the front bumper crack?????
Has any one got any advice or had a similar problem

Just to add it's damaged the bracket in which the fog lamp attaches to the other side of the bumper and pushed my grill in.
Thanks for advice in advance
