Need new summer tyres

I think the FK452 has a similar wear rating to the PS3s.

I've noticed that the PS3s are not XL tyres, does the Z4 need XL?

The PS3 certainly seems to get the best average review score on the Tyre Test website linked to by MyTyres so I may just throw caution to the wind and buy them as the things putting me off the cheaper ones are:-

FK452 - no sidewall protection, also my mate had them and said their performance seemed to tail off quickly.

Rainsport 2 - reports of very weak sidewalls that aren't suited to high performance cars.

Why can't there just be one type of tyre that is best at everything? :?

Falkens are ordered. :)

I started doing the maths and by the time I add in the upcoming Inspection, my latest cleanyourcar.co.uk order and a full geometry check at Revolution they were the only option that I could afford, scary how that little lot adds up to over £600 of expense on the car over the next 2 months. The insurance is due in June too which should be a laugh!

Well, BIG respect to Camskill, ordered on Sunday, tyres arrived at my local garage today and are fitted. Very, very efficient :)

After the appalling, bone shaking ride I get with my run flats I will be using normal tyres just as soon as these wear out.

I had a nail in my front right Bridgestone yesterday and called three tyre shops to see if they wd repair the puncture. (I only knew it was punctured because the tyre warning light came on).

All of them refused to repair the tyre!!! Very expensive if you have to buy a new tyre every time you get a puncture!!!

The 4th guy I called said to take it in and he'd see what he cd do.

He fixed it for £14... Better than shelling out for a new tyre but I will be getting rid of them as soon as the get worn.

I carry a small electric pump in the boot as well as two cans of Halfords Puncture Repair goo which I have used successfully over many years of driving.

In the same situation myself, have narrowed it down to the Bridgestone Potenza S001 (non-RFT) primarily due to reports of good wet weather grip. Has anyone had experience with them on a Z?

I fitted Uniroyal Rainsport 2's to the fronts of my 3.0 Z4 Coupe 15,000 miles ago, have gone over countless potholes & they're fine :) . Gonna change my rear runflats to Rainsports next week, Camskill offer the best prices though you have to pay a garage to fit them. Still works out about £40 cheaperthan using eg) Blackcirlces.co.uk
