Need help with convertible top rubber seal!

Hi! I have a 2007 Z4 3.0i roadster. It is my first project car! I removed the entire convertible top and I am refurbishing the whole thing.

My only issue is the rubber seal/lining (not sure what to call it) that is on the back, that connects to the back of the car. I want to soften and reshape that rubber, if its possible.

Also, what kind if adhesive is used? I scraped off the old white adhesive and I would like to reapply it when I reinstall the top.

Any other necessary info when refurbishing/reinstalling the convertible top will help! :]

Use Gummi Pfledge on the rubber (look on Amazon), it should put some life back into it. I don't believe adhesive of any sort is needed

For attaching rubber you need Permatex 81158 Black. Highly adhesive and stays flexible. You can find it on eBay for about a fiver.
