Need an rpm signal.

Hi all, just a quick one, I need to obtain an rpm signal for a nitrous controller, am I right in thinking I can get it from pin 9 on the OBD2 port?
Cheers all...

I'm planning to use the low voltage trigger from one of the coil plugs - just as soon as I figure out which one is the trigger...

There's that or the crankshaft sensor, just want to keep it nice and tidy, and it's gonna be right next to the controller.
You doing the same Liam?

Crankshaft sensor is an analogue signal, and may well have several signals per revolution. At least with coil trigger you will get a nice sharp 12V pulse. And you can pick it up from 6 different places along the engine :)

I tried to find a wiring diagram or pinouts for the coil connectors. Best I could find is someone testing a coil by measuring resistance across the bottom two pins. So my best guess is that the top pin is for the trigger signal.

Mine is for shift lights.
