Need a bit of help purchasing my MC

is a remap on an m of benefit ? why would bmw put out a performance car with a map that can be improved with a simple remap, what figures are you hoping to achieve, cause m's with fairly big mods such as headers cats and back boxes, induction kits , underdrive pulleys, and schrick camshafts are only achieving gains of 30 bhp iirc, add up the price of that lot and you are talking several k inc labour costs , icant see how a 500 quid mapping sessioncould realise more than 5 or 6 brake horse max, :?

Remapping isnt all about outright horsepower,it can make the car more driveable, smooth out power delivery and increase MPG if needed..

They standard map of a car is always a compromise in some way,and the car was brand new and ran on 100 octane fuel. As the years go on and the characteristics of the engine changes due to carbon build and quality of fuel used,a remap can work around the problems that creep into the running of the car.

Vehicle manufacturers constatntly remap there cars as the years go on,if you use the main dealers for service and repair work one of the standard operations for them to do to your car is load the latest version of software into the car.
