My 30i is worth more than I thought
Unfortunately it seems only if you're buying, never when you're selling.

I would happily sell an N20 facelift E89 Z4 with 27k miles, all the right toys, mapped, M sport, etc, etc, for £11k. I'm not allowed to, though, by order of the dishwasher. :)
You need a 30i. 😂😂

It would be the 6pot E85 for me every time. The Newer car will be less to run though always a consideration.

Well that's not always true, my 2009 30i which I have had for 3 years and use daily has had zero issues but my 2017 Golf which I have had just over a year is sitting in the garage waiting to be towed to the mechanics as it's overheating! :(

If for whatever reasons you can’t / don’t / won’t remap a 30i auto with a xHP is pretty good…some may argue it’s got to be manual but xHP gives you the best of all worlds..

I can second that I've remapped my auto 30i with XHP and its made a huge difference. I've had a F20 with the newer 8 speed and yes its a better box but when I sold it and got my Zed I didn't feel as though I was missing out a huge deal with the older 6 speed.

I usually treat running costs and failures/repairs, as two separate items. Perhaps should have written daily running costs. Should a bought a Mazda  .

Mazda's don't have the low load height and big boot I need for my very big dog!
Mine has both. :D Actually the main reason I have not replaced it. Even after some berk rammed it at a traffic light, about 2mins before I took this pic. Owes me nothing either, after the insurance paid me more than it's worth to keep it. :D

I stand corrected  How big is the boot on that? if I am not mistaken its based on the Mazda 2 Hatchback which is the same size as a Fiesta which we had before and was nowhere near big enough for our big boy. The Golf has a massive 605 litres boot with seats up. OP sorry for the thread hijack!

It's apparently 1044ltr seats down. 285lts up. When we helped our daughter move house I had a fridge freezer and a washing machine inside and a three piece sweet on the trailer behind. :o It's basically an old Fiesta Zetec 1.6 sport in a dress. Alas they stopped making the estate back on the newer models, so I'm keeping it until it dies. Currently 120k miles on it. :)

So, having scared myself a little (in a good way) with a 30i that then got bought from under me, I managed to find a 23i which ticks every single item on my must-have and nice-to have list in terms of spec (and goes above and beyond), and it's only the exterior colour that isn't top of my list, which is an easy enough fix...

Hoping to take delivery end of this week or early next week, and will provide pictures then :D
