those of you that are used to 3 ltr can now have a nice smirk, but as i was doing some unwise hooning i lost the backend somewhat and it stepped out about 3 feet, enough to remind me i was mortal. :o its been raining a few days now and..anyway as i readdressed my driving speed and continued on home i got to wondering,, the back stepping out like that made me wonder if one of my back tyres was low, its hard to tell by just looking, so out came my trusty tyre gauge, and lo, one tyre was down to 26 psi, so thats alright then, im still a wonderful driver    funny though, i had watched a video the day before saying that the z4 had good road holding but unlike the m3 which is progressive when it slides, the zed 4 just suddenly lets go. I found that out. :o

Ahaha always makes me laugh when it steps out of line. Although my previous zed used to do it a lot more when it had budget tyres on from the dealer I bought it from 😆

The Zed likes to remind you are still alive now and again. It's all part of the joy of Zedding. :driving:

Well my previous track car was a 3 series, and i must say the z4 is a lot snappier, the back end steps out quickly and it requires lightning reflexes to catch it. By comparison the 3 series was big and lazy, the back stepped out so slowly my nan could have held a nice slide in it!

Glad to hear it all ended well OP.

I can't be trying hard enough - I haven't managed to unstick my Z4 yet.

Just wondering, but did you have the Traction Control switched off?

yes, i loved my e90, fast and forgiving

Once your wallet is deeply emptied for quality new tyres, suspension shocks, bushes, RTAB’s, lollypops, ARB’s, tie rod ends, a revised geometry & a whole host of other tweaks... she’ll becomes far less snappy

It’s time you let the beast go mr tidy :driving:
Glad you’re finding out just how fun the 3.0 is road warrior, similar happened to me a couple of months back, I was giggling like a schoolboy, what fun :driving:

Maybe that's a resolution for the New Year!

The nearest I ever get is accelerating from slow corners on a slippery road, and the TC kicks in to brake a rear wheel. :headbang:

The electronics makes us think we are driving gods!

No, they stop us being driving gods - I never had any interference when I wanted to slide the rear of my Capris around!

My old Manta was exactly the same story ;@)

They only had 100ish Bhp :D They would have been real ditch finders with the 300 bhp in today’s cars!

Mine has stepped out a few times over the years but the big one happened on turning into a slip road that goes down into one lane.

The day before I had taken this turn at some speed and loved it so the same turn next day I tried it again only it went wrong :o she stepped out in a big way to the right and I had a wing mirror full of Armco then she snapped to the left and I had a wing mirror full of Black Astra and a worried looking driver she then carried on down the road back end snaking like a WRC and eventually straightened up by which time I was heading onto the A20 being passed by the cars behind me getting the WTF was that about I just sank into my seat  did not help I had the top down so could not really hide my embarrassment that easily.

The reason I put down to driving I little to quickly the extra weight of brother in law being in the car and the rears were getting low down to 3.5mm a week later I was at Leppsons getting a new set fitted and I now take that corner a little slower :D
