Near to buying a Z4M roadster...

It's all relative as well, buy one at the right price and just enjoy it for what it is.. Pay more and get something to showcase..

Just visited another Z4M in Ascot.
Dark silver. £13990.
Another dealer who wouldn't budge on price even though it was covered in scratches and had quite a worn roof co pared to others.
At this rate we will be sticking with the 3.0

Was that the Alexander David one ? That's where I bought my 3.0 from in 2011. They knocked some off mine, but not a lot, and there were a few things I missed... Been looking at that though, thought it looked nice.

Considering all my friends in the motor trade are telling me how "slow" business is it seems they don't want to do many deals.

Keep looking, it will be worth it :)

I had the same yesterday looking at a car with my mate.... it needed 4 tyres, and the dealer wasn't even willing to drop money off it...

odd mentality, but I'm sure they know what they are doing, and it's their stock sitting unsold at the end of the day...

I don't get it though...

I've just had look on AT, quiet a few cars on there still up for sale from when I was looking over a month a go.

I know it can take a while to match the right car to the right buyer, but I also believe a good car at the right price will sell quickly (even a car like an m) .

Yea, the Alexander David one.
He also wasn't wanting us to test drive it which worried me.

That is madness!!

x2 - though I guess they need to watch out for tyre kickers and test drive road warriors, and if you're not showing the interest... Still, very strange.

They offered me a test drive right away when I went to view mine, almost insisted.

But I do agree they must have some right time wasters to deal with.

The guy at Alexander James was funny with us.
We phoned to let him know we were coming, arrived asking to view and drive it.
He then asked if we were ready to buy today which we were, and he said there is no movement on price.
So I said that for the amount of scratches, there is no chance I would pay that for it.
It was in far worse body condition than the other two we had seen.
So he said good bye to us.
Another wasted journey!

I quite like getting a car covered in scratches, gives me a chance to polish it up and make it look better, I know that's not for everyone...

OK, so I've got 8 Z4M on my autotrader... are we saying they are all not good enough / selling price too high??

what about the private sale blue one at £12.9k???

<edit> the one in Edinburgh was one that I looked at a few months back... didn't get a good vibe of the salesman about it, and offered me a stupid price on my trade in...

Just sounds very rude bordering on arrogant!

As I said, keep looking and if the right car comes up don't let the bad experience's put you off going to view. I standby my statement that the right car will move quickly.

I know it's a long way but if you see anything in the north west I don't mind going to see it. I'm no expert but I'm honest and have a good pair of eyes. If its what you want it's worth making the trip :).

Would you go to £15/16k for a very low mileage car.

I know my budget jumped up, very much heart over head.

Popey - thanks for the offer.
Might take you up on that.
Where abouts are you? I wouldn't want to send you far.
Night think about stretching the budget.
I've noticed that they seem to be under £14k or over £17k though, a bit of a gap inbetween.
I will check figures and see if it can be done.
I sometimes like the idea of spending less and having a spare pot left over in case anything goes wrong unexpectedly
