NC500 / P.E.N.I.S 287 - Picture Heavy!

As we all like pics, here are some of mine from my recent road trip in the Scottish Highlands (I did take more than just pictures of the Zed :P). We were very lucky that the extra restrictions came into play on our penultimate night so we only missed one evening meal. Went with the Coupe and it turned out to be the right choice as we seemed to be following the rain, which was a shame as it meant the pics were always a bit dull and the Zed always filthy! :headbang:

Arguably the most naturally beautiful place in the world (and I've been lucky enough to drive Yosemite, The French Alps and live 15mins from Snowdonia), we're already planning another trip up there next year - gonna take the Roadster next time for sure.

The sights were breathtaking, the food was amazing (hand-dived scallops were out of this world) and the people were some of the friendliest I've ever come across. If you haven't been and want a road trip that won't disappoint then I highly recommend it.

Oh, and another bonus, camper vans will pull into the passing places just to let you get round! Don't get that anywhere else!

Enough natter, here are the pics:

Stunning photos OP.

There was even enough light for shadows in a few of them.

A Scottish road trip is a great experience - even if mine was in a 123d.

Glad you enjoyed it

Some cracking pictures there, the car’s looking fantastic

You’ll have better fun in the roadster next time, you might even get the odd hour of sun

Great pics. Brings back memories of our trip a few years ago. We were blessed with sun every day. We're planning on doing it all again next year :driving:

Beautiful.
And the coupe looks alright too.

Considered an all-black grill to match ur blacked-out windows?
That chrome surround bits’s gotta go fella.
:poke:

Great photo’s, show off the coupe and the country as they should be seen.Emigrated to NZ 30 years ago but still miss many things about the homeland.

Very nice. Looks like the next few months of Photo Comp are written off for the rest of us.

Having owned a 2 x 120D's there is nothing wrong with a 1er. TBH, it doesn't matter what car you're in up there...you soon forget about it as you're gawping at the scenery. :)

I blame taking the Coupe for the rain. If you go in a Roadster you're 100% guaranteed sunshine.

Good man! I can't wait to get back there next year. A trip to Ireland in the Coupe is on the cards first though.

I think I've had every option you can go for with the grilles (including the ZunSport mesh grilles). I'll probably end up back at black next year as I'm planning on a dark alloy switch.

Sort of my plan. Figured with everything that is going on I'm not going to be getting out much in the Zed so took a load of pics to last a few months.

Well I voted roadster in your poll so I’m off the hook

The roof down just makes an already fantastic experience even better. As I said to you previously, these are the type of roads I drive daily

I did fancy Ireland myself but I think outwith a few more trips in Scotland/U.K. a 14 day European trip is what we’ve just started planning. We’ve got as far as agreeing the Chunnel the rest TBC

If you make it towards the South of France I can highly recommend the Route De Grand Alps and the Vecors. Happy planning!!!

Cheers, joking aside we haven’t set any plans yet except we want to do the Alps in various parts and the OH wants to go to Switzerland. Once we’ve had a bit more of a serious conversation about it I think I’ll be posting a help wanted post with suggestions and take it from there.

I had a quick look there at Route De Grand Alps and that looks like a good shout but when I googled the Vecors nothing came up, what’/where’s that?

We just want the best experience and are more than happy to take advice from more experienced members.

The one thing we agreed on last night was we will book the first night and last nights hotel to tie in with the Tunnel but apart from that we’re going to add to the adventure of stopping where an when we want for overnighters

With that weather how is the coupe still clean? those photos have to be photo shopped .. or you are using one hell of a ceramic product ;)

But seriously great photos, and a trip I would love to do one day. The trip South also sounds like a dream trip.
