Borgie Lodge Hotel looked very pleasant. We stopped there for coffee after our somewhat less than enjoyable night in Thurso. A somewhat old-fashioned looking place, but not too far from the main route. We diverted a bit further up the road to Skerray.

Some good info in this thread , i'm well into the planning stages now & welcome any feedback on my planned stopover places
I'm going to post a separate thread as we now have a good number of members who have either done the trip a few times or live in Scotland & have great insight that I think is invaluable
