will there be a chance to drive the Aston Martin track like a year or so ago? Good fun! Hit the rev limiter in third so about 140 IIRC.

Yes.

But I think you'll find the rev limiter in 3rd is only about 105mph, 4th is 140mph, 5th is 175mph-ish.

thtas more like it lucy- we meetin the same place as last time- are ed and tom etc meeting us as well?

You tell me  Ed should be convy leader like last time.

Cue: Ed, where are you... :tumbleweed: Might have to text him if he doesn't come on.

So wr r u guys/ladies meeting, prior to arrivn at gaydon/be nice to travel in convoy with other zs,as well as the scittish cc region cars(1 big convoy). i am more active on the bavrn board(craig3.0 also),if any1 can let me know, and doesnt want to post too much info on here,u can pm on that forum. Are any of u guys on the zed regstr in the car club RE,mmm-five, I am booked onto the aston test track, should be fun/tho are u not limited to 70mph and led round by a lead car?(or is it not that strict?) ALSO,i am having trbl with my laptop/photobkt,and havnt got my pics on yet/any alt ways to do so? (i have a 2005 3.0i se,that iv owned for over 2yrs,in sphr black/with m-sport seats,108's,that need some refurbn;uprated discs, pads and painted calipers;carver stereo upgrade,etc/and a strutbrace to follow,on order)

Never done Gaydon before as I had gotten a bit fed up with the whole car meet scene after doing years and years of it with my Polo G40, Corrado VR6, e34 M5(s), etc.

It just seemed to be a long day of standing around chatting, whereas I am more interested in meeting at a track or country road somewhere and driving - with a bit of inter-session chatting.

I have heard that the AM test track was speed-limited and you were all in convoy, but I've never experienced it myself.

yeah,likewise/enjoy driving a good, partially windy road on a dry day,and have only started doing the carclub mtngs in the last yr(just uk motorshows/touring cars, etc b4 that),tho did goodwood fstvl of speed this yr for the 1st time, and was a great day out. as for the aston martin test track,im getting mixed info about it/the cc mag says ltd to 70 and led round, while others on here and the bvrn board forum say its 100mph plus!(not sure what to expect now) have done trackdays b4,but not for yrs,am hoping there r no idiots on,causing mayhem?!

u need to book thru the bmw car club office, tho they will have a stand/display at fstvl,so prob b able to book on the day,if not fully booked??

Mate of mine works for Jag in brake development has been promising to give me a go in a new XJ Supercharged on the AM track at some point, but has yet to follow through. Wonder if he's going this weekend.. :driving: Will be at the England game tonight so will ask him if he's tempted to show us up..

Not sure I'll bother for £12, bound to be a convoy, and looking on Googlemaps it's not the greatest.

Weather for Sunday looking better all the time!! :) Is there a plan to meet at the services on the M40? If so what time???

Mini update on the circuit, spoke to my matey last night and apparently it's now Jag/LR owned, but they let AM borrow it since the Ford split.

Problem is they dont use it for any handling related stuff, it's more repetitive testing, so it won't be much fun I'm afraid.

Up for meeting at Warwick services, although that would mean me driving away from my house to then drive back to Gaydon, lol.

Coming up with friends in a 135i, E34 M5 (very loud!) and my Z4MC....

May be others as well, but not sure yet. If anyone else wants to join us in a convoy from West-London area, then drop me a PM! :)

yep you're right it was in 4th!

What time will the Yorkshire convoy be passing Trowell services so that we can tag on, unless you want to make it a stopping point.

Oh my gosh, forgot about this, silly me!! Has anyone got the convoy sorted from the north??

Also do we need to organise a stand at the show or just turn up??

I'm now in worcester saturday night so I was going to meet up with people at warick services on the M40 sunday am,any idea of what time?
