NATIONAL MEET 2014... (FRI),SAT.&SUNDAY 11TH/12TH/13TH JULY

What camping gear does everyone take?

I've got my full set for marshalling, which includes cooking/tea-making equipment, but it usually never gets used as there's usually an on-site 'brunch van' or cafe.

Does everyone cook their own breakfast/tea, or just get one from the hotel?

Tent, gas cooker, airbed, double bag, mess tins, kfs x2, breakfast stuffs, random nibbles, "emergency" dinner food (beans n sausages).
teabags, milk, beer.

if we decide we're gonna eat at camp / bbq it, I'll just nip to the shops :)

Last year, I took a stove and made my own breakfast, tea etc as did some others but others also got butties etc and coffee from the garage up the road.

I've got my air-tent, gas and petrol stoves, double airbed, mess tins, thermos, Leatherman, nibbles, torches/lanterns, batteries, orange overalls, 'emergency rations', folding chair, factor 50, aftersun, etc. but anything else can be picked up locally.

However, as I've never been to the National Meet I didn't know what the normal modus operandi was. Don't even know if there's a local & good fish & chip purveyor.

Might be a moot point now as I might have a travelling companion with me who doesn't do camping, so might go for the hotel option instead.

In previous years some of us went to the garage up the road who did rolls, but weren't doing them last year, so we were kindly fed by those who had brought bacon, etc and cooking stuff.

As for dinner, Friday night is the meal in the Crooklands, if u can make it, Saturday night is a BBQ (weather permitting/been nice every year, so fingers crossed).
Will put more info nearer the time, but I take £5/6 from everyone who wants to eat at the bbq, and we go buy food locally....though might pre-book food this year :D

AS THE POLL VOTING HAS NOW ENDED....BY MAJORITY VOTEING, THIS YEARS NATIONAL WILL BE FRIDAY 11TH /SATURDAY 12TH AND SUNDAY 13TH JULY, 2014 (Friday just for evening meal/catchup, etc.)....DRIVES ARE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY :D :driving:

Will definitely be there for the Fri meal. Planning on leaving Liverpool about 4pm.

I've booked the hotel as I thought it would be easier to cancel later than book later, so am happy to free up my camp space.

We usually get Brekkie at the Cafe at the local petrol staion but it was closed last year.
If you like a brew it's worth bringing a kettle and stove or the Bar is always open.

Hi Craig. We'll be there Sat & Sun. Decided to stay at the hotel this year. GF wasn't too keen on camping again. Hope the weather is as good as last year.

so, as there seems to be good numbers going to this, I was wondering if anyone is considering passing near nottingham on their way up and fancied "grouping" up for the drive up on the Friday?

Gutted :headbang: , cant make it for the next week, already booked weekend for York Races.
Feckin Tour de France, have just had to cancel Crooklands for 4th / 5th July!
Had A great time last year on my first meet and was really looking forward to seeing you all again (and winning loads of goodies haha)
hope the weather is as good as last year, had the roof down the whole weekend.
Have a great time.
