As per title, this years National Forum meet will be on the 2ND weekend in JULY, pending the results of our vote/poll, from FRIDAY THE 11th through to SUNDAY THE 13th.
UPDATE(3/4/14).....DUE TO THE TOUR DE FRANCE BEING IN THE YORKS DALES/MOORS ON SAT 5TH AND SUNDAY 6TH, AND BEING IN THE AREAS THAT WE WOULD NORMALLY TAKE IN AT SOME POINT ON OUR SUNDAY RUN,THERE WAS A DATE CHANGE.


Why did the damn Tour de FRANCE have to start in Yorkshire Dales/moors this weekend...don't they know that's when we always have our z4-national meet :rofl: :poke:

Regards the meet itself, if you want any more info then see previous years threads for the NATIONAL MEET 2010/2011/2012/2013 :thumbsup:

As before we have a drive on the Saturday round the lovely Lakes, stopping for lunch and toilet breaks, and this tends to be the slightly more relaxing driving day due to the roads we are on.
On the Sunday we head for the Yorkshire dales/moors, which is the more driver-focussed day of the 2(a bit faster paced/emptier roads).Again, stopping for Lunch etc. at designated times.

As of now, I have once again block booked ALL available tent spaces at the Waters Edge Caravan park (aprox 12 spaces).
Prices for Camping/Tent-spaces are as follows, £12 per 1/2man tent per night with single occupant, an upto 2/3/4 man size tents being £14.50 with 2 person Occupancy, per night.

I have also Booked a table for 12-14 people at the Crooklands hotel, Kendal, for the Friday Night Meal for those who will be there then. Again, PM me if you want your names down for this, thanks.

Regards all bookings for TENT SPACES, PM ME....DO NOT TRY TO BOOK THESE INDEPENDANTLY...I will be taking £10 Deposits per tent space/pitch which I will pay as a total deposit to the site, and as such is non-refundable.

UPDATE, 7TH APRIL 2014....I HAVE BOOKED THE MEAL FOR FRIDAY 11TH AT CROOKLANDS HOTEL FOR THOSE WHO CAN MAKE IT.
ALSO SORTED THE W/EDGE CAMPSITE FOR W/END OF 11th/12th/13th JULY.
The w/edge campsite has 3-4 tents in on the Saturday 12th July, but has kindly agreed to STILL ACCOMODATE US,and ensures us they will have enough room for all those that we require(usually 10-12) :thumbsup:

For Hotel room Bookings, please book these YOURSELVES, as various websites can do good deals on these, individually, as can the Hotel itself. (Some deals include Dinner).

Regards the Drives, I/we will post more info on these when they are sorted out, but times are as follows
DEPARTURE TIME IS 10A.M ON THE SATURDAY AND 10.30A.M , AND YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND, OR JUST THE INDIVIDUAL SATURDAY OR SUNDAY DRIVES.
MEET-POINT IS CROOKLAND HOTEL CARPARK, KENDAL.

For those who haven't been before, as always you can stay at the Waters Edge Campsite (booked via me) and also the Little Acres site is across the road for those who don't want to stay at W/edge....but its better if we are all on 1 site as last year.
We have a BBQ on the Saturday night and a wee Charity Raffle....it will be limited to 10/12 prizes this year though, as it was getting too big/long-winded last couple of years with the amount of prizes I had to give away, lol.
In previous yrs we have raised between £150 and over £300(if memory serves me right), for various Cancer charities :)

I will need to know your forum name, real name(s), Car model/colour/engine size and what DAY/DAYS you are coming, and if you are planning to stay at the Campsite (bringing your own tents, obviously), the Hotel or your Own Accommodation, etc. and for how many nights/days etc. ALSO if you are Camping or coming to the Meal on the Friday Night or the BBQ on the Sat nt, please let me know this also, and if you will be on your own or with a Partner/Mate, thanks.

Craig - that weekend is the Tour de France weekend so there will be absolute chaos on all the roads around Yorkshire. There will also be other events meaning that roads around will be closed, and of course hundreds of cyclists on the roads. The route includes Hawes and Reeth so is likely to do Buttertubs.

We would really like to come to the National - certainly for the Sunday, possibly the weekend, but won't be able to get across there that weekend

Regards the Tour de France, we will need to look into the exact routes and maybe see about changing our routes or the weekend, if possible?

Will speak to John about this and sort something out, although it looks like its doing Hawes etc on the Saturday and therefore it would hopefully be opened back up on the Sunday when we are going there (will need to check). Thanks for the heads up :thumbsup:

Goes through Hawes one day - so you'll need to avoid that whole area - lots of traffic and road closures. Also wonder if camping etc will be harder / more expensive as hundreds of thousands of people will probably attend (the tour not the national meet ;))

Would like to attend national on one day but desire to see tdf stronger!

I'll keep an eye on the thread.
 
I will be there hopefully on the Saturday. This cycling could be a big problem and as Guiseley, said it may be a issue for those wanting to camp.

Although I've already dropped out if it's the 5th (or later) I really do suggest you move it. The size and scale of this event is like nothing you can imagine.
Roads, hotels camp sites full for a whole week. Thousands of camper vans, caravans and on and on who even if you miss them on race days will without doubt make a week of it. It'll be a nightmare on and off the roads for the Yorkshire day.
 
Yes, going to talk about this to John this week coming....as regards the Campsite, etc I have already got this booked as I have the meal at Crooklands, but the possibility of getting a good, traffic free day on the Sunday may be an issue, so me and John will have a good think about this.
The only problem with the prospect of moving it to the last weekend in June would be that those who have said they are coming/are available for the 1st weekend in July may not be available the last weekend in June.

For those with names down already, let me know your thoughts on the Tour de France in Yorkshire Dales/Moors on the Sunday, on part of the route we would normally include on our run, and the alt of moving the meet to the weekend before; i.e the last w/end in June

By the weekend suggested clashes with the Scottish Game Fair, which my (to be) father in law organises. I had to miss last years national for the Game Fair.

Would prefer to do both this year. Any danger of moving the date?

Thanks for arranging again this year Craig. I vote for a date change (+/- one week perhaps) so we can take in the Dales as usual.
