Nasty crash at the Ring

Been shared on a few forums now. Interestingly the original video was taken down...

The driver gets out at the end of the video, so one hopes he is OK.

Ouch, that's going to need some serious buffing. Lot's of rolling absorbs the energy. I've been in a crash like that in the back of a morris minor, with no belt on. Bit slower though. We all got out without a scratch. Hopefully he did to. :D

:o Wouldn't like to see that happen to someone in an open top car

Video in original link has been taken down so here it is again

1 good reason not to go do it

Yeah.....not for me,a group of us stopped the night in the vacinity with the possibility of a lap but spent the night in the bar/restaurant instead and left for Zeebrugge in the morning. This was in our biking days and decided it wasn't worth the risk after a holiday around Spain,France, etc and everyone was tired + no way of getting home if the bike was damaged.
There were a lot of regulars there,as I expect there always is,with cars you wouldn't look twice at but the mods were sufficient with the driver skills/bravery and track knowledge to be bloody quick........and us lot would've just been "in the way"
Glad the driver was OK

Wowzers! Funnily enough Mike loves to show me videos of tubes on the ring and I've said as much as I'd love to go around, if be fearful of some chufty who might fancy themselves as Lewis Hamilton and cause damage to your car or even injury through their stupidity.

It's the Romain Grosjeans you need to watch out for ;).

If the 'ring was in the UK it would have been shut down by now - knobends like the boy in the video above are why !

I would consider a track day - but not the 'ring - too risky for my liking.

I think it would be so easy to get carried away on the ring after a lap and becoming confident!
Or should that be over confident? :D

shocking crash indeed. glad the driver seemed ok at the end - surely a testament to modern car structure.

lucky driver...
