Nothing like seeing images from the past - how old - 100 million years or so?

If anyone's out there looking at us, all they'll see are dinosaurs . . . . . :o

And weren't the first images sent and therefore travelling into space were of the Nazis. . . . :cry:

Just noticed NASA have released the latest pictures of Pluto & it's moon - Charon :D

Shame at the moment the pictures are no more than heavily pixelated white blobs :(

Never mind, in a few weeks the images should be spectacular :thumbsup:

I don't know what it is about this topic, but it always gets me misty eyed.

Few years back my family & I visited Kennedy Space Centre - one of the attractions (for those that haven't been) is a replica mission control set of one of the Apollo Moon rocket launches.

They play a video of the launch as it happened, and the sounds & pictures are simply stunning... there are cardigans & jackets on the back of the seats just as there was back in the day.

Well after 10 minutes of that I was weeping like a child, as were a few of the other adults in the room.

My lad, who was only young at the time couldn't understand it...me neither :oops:

I remember that - it affected me too
Visiting Kennedy was awesome, we ended up there for a second day and it inspired one of my kids to go study Astro physics next year.
