name your best or favourite car ever owned

1988 Honda CRX 1.6! It was probably the best handling car I have ever owned without being silly fast with only 130bhp! Honda Civic Type r was pretty good though 52 plate, it was immaculate until the day after I spent £1000 on service tyres and MOT. Basically the only T bone I like, comes from my butcher!

+1 on the type R. I had a 2003 which i kept for 4 years (my record) I enjoyed it that much. I have to say I'm not beyond getting an integra at some point.

Is Australia. V8 Turbo weren't they? When I bought my Mondeo ST, you could import a brand new Falcon XR6 for under £20k. It was a seriously enticing way of having a bit of V8 muscle!

4.0-litre inline-6 Turbo actually. The black one in that photo has 245kW/480Nm, which I sold for a later model with 270Kw/533Nm. The newer one was great, but the black one was my first truly nice, fast car.

Was really cool, with the 20" wheels and slightly lowered (as in that pic), it was just gorgeous. Not to mention the orange paint ("Octane") was a pretty uncommon sight.

Not got a massive car history, but my Z4 was my best/favourite car owned to date.

Loving the replacement too: enjoyable in a different way...

So far, my currently owned Z4MR.
I thought this was excluding the obvious Z4's as this would be a boring thread with 300 Z4's mentioned.

So i will have to fall back to the third car in my "favourite car ever owned" list, since the two front rows are occupied by Z4's, so it would be my 206 CC 2.0.

PS : and since we have to exclude Z4's from this topic, i'd say it rather denies the topic of its ultimate interest, which si "name your best or favourite car ever owned". I can't say my Z4MR (we do not talk about Z4 here) and i can't say "my 206 CC" becuase it is NOT my "best or favourite car ever owned".
So... never mind me, just passing by...

At different times - my old favourite was a Vauxhall Carlton GSi 24v, went like stink for a family barge in those days, carried the wife & 3 kids & was faultless over the 80k miles I had it. After that it a toss-up between my old MX5 and the Lotus Elise 111R that I replaced it with.
The MX5 was again faultless over the 7 years that I owned it, & I had a lot of fun tinkering with it & improving it (uprated suspension, supercharger etc) & it was cheap as chips to run. I thought I'd got it to go pretty fast until I tried the Lotus which was just on a different planet for back-road pace. The Lotus was more reliable than anticipated with no serious problems over the near 60k miles - if you use them everyday they are reliable.

We don't have to exclude Z4's. That was just the view of Jim80, which I don't agree with. The OP didn't exclude Z4's either. Just because you currently own a Z4 doesn't mean it will automatically be your favourite car as we've already seen from the mixture if replies so far.

Which leads me to think of another thread idea.

I love the Z4, but I think my 'favourite' car was my '02 Fiesta Zetec S simply because I felt like it was individually mine and unique. Bought completely standard except a Magnex exhaust

Milltek 4-2-1/decat
Ford Racing Sparco seats
300mm front brakes
Weitec GT Coilovers
White 16" Speedline Turini's
Colour Coded

SUCH a fun car, not 'fast' but put a smile on my face every time I drove it
