Naked Grills

No, not naturist BBQs...

Anyone running naked grills on their e85/e86?
e.g. no kidney grills or modified grills to remove the vertical slats?

Just wondering... and any pics appreciated :thumbsup:
 
Haven't seen it ... Just clip yours out tomorrow and then show us all too ;-) I'd be worried about the radiator getting knackered

Have got a broke set to mod and play with.

Mhmm, yep was wondering about radiator protection, but fairly large stones can still get through the slats, so not sure if would be a real issue... unless you were doing motocross :)

It's actually the AC Condenser that is directly behind the grills. Then the rad behind this.

That instead then ;-) but yes Sae I guess the slats only really prevent birds , babies and cats from causing damage.

I think I might have a mess about with some plastidip.
 
You can get those Zunsport (?) mesh grilles on eBay... But they look a bit crap IMO.
 
Had a play this morning, just from visuals perspective the grill holes are massive, but what looks weird is the silver ac condenser rad panel, would be different if the condenser panel was black, but on a black car looks weird.

So black slats rule, for now :)
 
My Z got hit last week in the parking lot, and broke the clips on both grills, so right now, running no grills. Definitely looks better with, but by no means is it ugly without grills.

Ouch, hope it's not major damage.

Yep doesn't look bad without just takes a while to adjust. Hope you get sorted ok.
