N55 BM engine?

I did a search regarding common problems of the N55 3.0l twin scroll engine. The only thing that I could find was a question mark over the crank rod bearings. Is this the case with the N55, or is it more the S55? I've seen and heard lots of complaints about this with M4s.
Basically, is the N55 any good, or has it got design faults?

Pretty reliable engine, from what I've heard. Driving my colleague's M140i last year was what convinced me I needed a straight 6 in my life again.
