Whilst updating my SatNav software tonight I was conscious of a ticking sound at idle reminiscent of tappet rattle from the good old days.
On lifting the bonnet and listening a bit closer, a 'chuffing' or popping noise was coming from the rocker cover.
When I opened the oil filler cap, there is blue haze (not unusual) no sludge, just this pronounced chuffing/popping noise.
There is also slight pressurisation under the rocker cover.
There are no warning lights in the iDrive system, and both oil and water levels are normal.
I don't know if it's "one of them things" or the start of something more drastic.
I've Googled a bit but thought I'd throw it into the forum for any of you gurus to proffer an opinion.
The only thing I've come across so far is that a blocked crank case breather may cause the symptoms on a Land Rover!
So - any thoughts anybody?
