N52 oil grade 76k

It’s nearly oil change time, any recommendations for an n52 particularly anything that will help with the short journey HLA noise. :D

I use Mobil 1 0w40. Being 0w, when cold I find it helps avoid noisy valves. I've used it in my 3.0 n52 and old 2.5 n52 and both had a noticibly quieter, smoother engine after putting it in

Try a 5W40 but the real prevention is to not do short journeys.

I try to avoid short journeys but I only work 2 miles down the road and the z4 is my daily, I walk 3 days out of 5 most weeks just if the weathers poor I prefer to stay dry 😂

That’s the issue, it won’t be up to operating temp in such a short distance-it’s probably nearer ten miles before it’s warmed up properly :?

It’s a pain in the proverbial! It stops soon as it’s up to temperature and a good blast, aside from that it runs sweet and doesn’t burn oil etc.

Trust me, it won’t be up to temperature in two miles
