Hi, is your 2.5si the 218hp version? I don't think you can improve on that very much as its a very high specific output, I'm not so sure about the lower output versions.
I think the trouble is if the upgrade work is very complex or expensive it would be a lot easier to just sell your 2.5 & buy a 3.0si with 265hp?
Regards

I'm with Smartbear, if you want more performance then upgrade to a 3.0si

These valvetronic engines aren't easy to mod.

Weren't there derated 3.0 in the states?

I doubt this would work, might free up the intake a little but would need a remap too? Wouldn't be massively expensive but doubt you'd get much in the way of gains with the manifold, not much more than with a remap anyway.

Yes it can be done on the basis your car doesnt have DISA.

If it doesnt then yes you can fit the 3 stage manifold as its refered to in the states but you will need someone like active autowerke to remap and code in the disa valve.

Been done plenty of times.

Check e90post, zpost etc

Only that detuned 3.0i n52 doesnt have disa.

I think it's easier to do one with disa swap, so you don't have to code in the disa.

The american forums probably dont know a lot about this as they afaik dont get the 2.5si/n52 218hp.
I'd search german forums.

Wether there is anything to gain is a different matter though, but that's not always the point
