N52 engine?

Evening everyone!
Wondering ihow I would tell if my E85 2.5 has the N52 engine or not? Thanks for any help,

If it is a facelift it will have the N52.

Facelifts have oblong front fog lights (that usually mist up), pre-facelifts have circular fog lights and the M54 engine.

Both engines are great but the N52 revs higher (7,000 rpm red-line) so there's another clue!

Post a picture of the engine, what year is it, or look it up online by putting the reg into autotrader or vehicle smart etc..

Thanks everyone! Went out side to check the vin and I’ve got the pre facelift M54, for anyone that’s interested there’s a gent in bristol selling a full stainless exhaust for the N52 that’s never been fitted for £260
