N52 Engine insulation of hose eaten, DANGEROUS?

Hi everyone,

Today I visited a car dealer that offers a demo 2006 Z4 coupe 3.0 si. It has only 4000 miles on the clock but I guess a marten has eaten pieces of the insulation of a hose (see red dots on example picture).

It's hard to see of the inner part is also damaged.
What is flowing thru this hose?
Is it dangerous to drive?

If I'm right, and that's at the rear of the engine near the firewall, then it's the crank case breather pipes - the tubing is just there as protection and to make it look prettier.

Shouldn't make it dangerous to drive though.

So only warm air flows thru this hose..
