That sounds good, is it something that's easy to do yourself?

I have the old MMI box which works with the AUX port and it’s pretty simple to hook up, I’ve heard the newer boxes might be a bit more tricky to install but still doable. There are a few threads on here on this subject and as others have said Anusbiszed is the best person for advice related to this.

I'm 'enjoying' fitting the MMI box!

I can see that  But seriously I don’t recall stripping all that out to fit my MMI box.

That’s what happens when you follow AnnubisZed’ videos.. :tumbleweed:

As an aside, the trim that includes the heater controls…once you’ve undo the obvious screws does it just pull off?

I assume you don’t need to remove the ignition fob slot ?

No you don't need to remove the ignition key slot. Just remove the screws and it should pull out but if I remember correctly there is a sneaky screw on the passenger end. My memory is pretty crap so I always end up referring to this video:

I know the key slot is screwed differently on my 2009 23i car than shown in this video (easier in this video).
It shows it screwed from the from, my car the panel next to you left leg has to be removed, 1 screw horizontal and 2 screws are vertical.

I got the air con trim panel off in the end , just that awful feeling of ‘do I have to pull a bit harder or have I forgotten a screw’ moment.. :tumbleweed:

On the trim panel round the light switch I found after I removed it that there was a secret screw / clamp that’s at right angles to the trim well hidden from view..thankfully didn’t snap the plastic tab

The new carbon fibre trims look lovely ..can’t wait to see them mounted and fitted

Let’s see some photos once you’ve finished installing them. :D

Getting closer..I've dug out my old hot glue gun to tack the various parts together..just nervous about the first drilling out the plastic welds on the old trims.. :tumbleweed:

Take your time and you should be fine. I used something like the Tiger PU adhesive. Super strong stuff that, used it on my front bumper too since it was sticking out at the edges a bit.

Did my first trial with the glue gun..just a dab of glue on the edge of new Audiotec Tweeters in their triangles for the front doors..worked well..

I'll persevere with that for these small scale jobs..if that doesn't work I'll try your recommendation..
