N52 DIsa noise

Ok quick question. Should I be able to hear the DISA flap open when I hit 4000 rpm - at the moment I can hear a definite click in the cabin when it opens. No problems with car otherwise - acceleration and idle all ok and no other rattling from Disa - but I can definitely hear it when it opens. Should I be concerned or is it normal? Car is an 07 e86 with 85k on the clock

Hi, I don’t remember my si making any clicking noises? :?

Hi,
Old thread I know but I’m definitely hearing and feeling a clicking/suction sound at 4krpm also. Had new OEM vanos solonoids..
I have the foams removed from the sound ‘generator’ pipe so was wondering if it could be amplified DiSa noise.
Can’t say it seems to do it always though.
Mine is a 2007 3.0si… I wasn’t aware of too many issues with this gen of disa valves..

Anyone else notice this power/sound at 4000rpm on acceleration ?

Not mine. I recently took the big piece of foam out, having taken the smaller piece out a year ago. It just gets louder when you press the pedal, no clicking at 4K.
