N52 Coupe with Supersprint headers (Video)

Just finished with my exhaust build. Replaced entire factory system with Supersprint headers and custom 3" single piping exhaust, stainless steel and mandrel bends of course. In between is a Vibrant resonator and Flowmaster muffler. Those components were not my first choice but size restrictions really limit options. However I'm very happy with how it turned out. Primary reason for upgrade and change over to single 3" was to gain top end where the N52 tends to run out of steam on a road course. Car is primarily driven on track so I was willing to sacrifice some low end.

nice mate - shame we can't get these in the UK.

Have you also got the dash light removed when you remove the cats?

Ok so thats two.

Are you interested in starting a GB?

The issue isnt so much making them, the steering rack is in the way.
Does that mean they can make equal length headers for rhd regardless or did they not make them because of this.

Sounds pretty darn good. Would be interested if it was a twin pipe. Not sure what I think of the single exhaust. May just take some getting used to

Thanks everyone, sounds great but more importantly the gains are there and really helps when I hit the main straight of a road course. As far as single vs dual, most 'race' exhausts are single as it lighter in weight and is cheaper / simpler to produce. And for my purpose dual wasn't even an option since nobody besides Supersprint produces anything that bolts up to their headers. Going custom was my only real choice and double would've been insanely expensive for stainless and mandrel bends. Although if one really wanted dual look you could simply choose a single in dual out muffler.

And regarding check engine lights, none whatsoever. I had a N52 tune but I later paid for the "off road" version that removes any CEL and still allows me to pass local inspection.

Supersprint headers

This is a bit of a long shot but were they the stepped headers and if so can you tell me what the diameters are between the steps and how far apart they are . If you no longer have them do you know of someone that would know . Thanks .

I don't think that's going to be useful given the available space for manifold/downpipes on RHD vs LHD cars.

The options for RHD are extremely compromised given the steering column being in the way.

Hi Liam,

Yes fully aware of the differences because of the steering column as I have seen where people have ordered the LHD and cut them about to fit and the reason why you went with the original manifolds as a starting point for your race exhaust etc but would the changes made to the Supersprint headers to make them fit make that make much performance difference to the stepped part from the manifold ? ? :idunno: or hyperthetically if I was able to find somewhere that could make a tubular manifold to fit would it be worth using the dimensions from the Supersprint stepped headers or just going with the same diameter throughout the manifold before the collectors ?
I am presuming just go with same size primarys rather than stepped because they will be a different layout to the Supersprint but thought I would put the question out there . What do you think ?

Sorry I do not recall and no longer own the car. I would post on zpost to see if someone there can answer.
