Hello everyone, I am very pleased to announce I have finished the prototypes for the carbon fiber intake tubes I was working on for some months. I'll attach some pictures of it installed below. I am able to sell these to forum members if there is enough interest, which I expect there should be since they are absolutely gorgeous. The prototypes are a perfect direct fit replacement to the stock intake tube, made of 3k 2x2 twill pure carbon. The main benefit is obviously cosmetic, however there are a couple more as well. Air resonator box is deleted so you can expect a very slight weight savings and sound increase, along with a smoother air path, which should theoretically provide some power increase (I have yet to back this up with dyno tests, I will try to do that in the coming weeks). I currently only have one available for sale, but more will be available soon. Feel free to PM me if you're interested and we can work out a price depending on your location. tempImageC4iFil.jpgtempImageipsRhK.giftempImageBdVPOV.gif

Could you make one of those with the MAF port built into it?

what would the purpose be

So you could attach a ram air filter on the end.
Ideally I’d like the pipe about 3 inches longer with the mount for the MAF to attach to.
Is that doable and how much would be talking?

I mocked this up at the end of the year for testing. Had to use a MAF housing from a 2.0. But if the pipe you have made can have the MAF hole and fixing built in you would be on to a winner.

Also interested if you produce this style.

I see what you mean. Likely I would opt to not modify the existing tube but instead design a separate component that subsequent air filter would attach to. The mold for the tube was insanely expensive to have made for me so best not to pay for a new one. MAF could be attached to the existing component I suppose, however making a custom apparatus like the OEM one would prove challenging.. but could be done. Would then need a silicone coupler and a small 45 angle carbon tube on the end, where the filter would attach. This would of course leave the final challenge of secure mounting, and heat shielding to make it very proper, like the AEM intake
