Just a quick post. I'll be honest, my issue is actually not with my Z4, but I can't see that the 2006 N52 on the 330i is much different.
According to BMW (who looked over my car whilst it was in for an outstanding recall) "Oil Leak - Possible Issue with Breather System".
There seems to be a fair bit of oil around the right side (as viewed from front of the car) of the engine under the breather system, and there seems to be a significant vacuum pull making the oil cap difficult to move. From my research both things seem to be very good reasons to suppose BMW have identified the problem in broad terms.
I am not taking it to the main dealer.
What do you all think that might turn out to need doing, and what is a ball-park price from a decent local independent?
