its a reformed M3 e46 wheel by looks of things.
pretty sure it will fit;I would not put it in a z4 though:
1. it will look out of place
2. the M3 wheel is has a larger diameter
If you want a special wheel then speak to Jack at royal steering wheels. Pretty sure he will re profile your z4 wheel; I found this in his testimonials.
He currently retrimming an e46 M3 wheel he has in stock for me and I'll be exchanging my old wheel once I've fitted the retrimmed one.
£115 for perforated leather sides and Nappa leather top and bottom.
£9.99 delivery and £150 security deposit refundable upon sending my original wheel back.
Richard: SL350 2003 no paddles – re-profiled + flat bottom, black perforated on sides, red nappa top/bottom, red stitch on red leather and black on black( 15.08.2015

Alcantara wears quickly and you will have a shiny wheel in a year if its a daily.
I wouldn't do a flat bottom wheel unless your knees currently hit the standard wheel
I would say its best to keep OEM and go for a nice refurbed leather wheel with m stitching or a half half with alcantara ( i wanted that but went with perforated and smooth leathers so it wears well for many years)
entirely depends what you want and you would be one of the first to fit a flat bottom in a z4 so god knows what it'll look like
