I'm happy to help get something organised as everyone seemed to enjoy the empty roads we found last year. I'll have a look at the calendar and suggest a couple of dates.

Lol yep we will. You could coat the roads in custard and make the rest of us go backwards and I'd still be confident.

Awesome Sammyz - it was the drive of the summer, even getting to the meeting point that day was pretty great (allbeit nice and early).

andy - u doing silverstone thsi year? We could make it a z meet as well if u wanted- was ace last year

I see in this month's EVO mag they were on some of the same roads with an Aston, Ferrari and Bentley, looked very cold and icy though.

Well hot on the heels of the North East meet we said we'd try to sort something out for a North Wales drive. I've left it until now to make sure everyone is still talking to each other after a day in the Dales :poke:

I'm suggesting two dates in April, Sunday the 11th or Sunday 18th. Itinery something like:-

Meeting at Asda Queensferry for 10.00 am.
Drive into Wales including the Evo triangle, stop for refreshments at Lake Brenig centre.
Drive onto Bala via some good roads another brief stop then then back to seaside for fish and chips - or just chips in Lucy's case :)
Back down the A55 to Queensferry and home.

I'm guessing back to Queensferry about 3.00pm.
If we get enough interest then I'll sort out the exact details/maps etc. If you can make both say so or if you can't make one date let me know and we'll see which is best for the majority.

You'll find Sunday tends to be busier than Saturday as there's plenty of returning caravans on the roads.

We only averaged 40mph over the 3 days this weekend, and that was with taking advantage of the roads when we could - although we did stop every hour for a breather and to let the cars rest.

If you can find some roads that aren't main routes then you'll probably have a better time of it. I used Google Streetview to check out the size/quality of the roads before we went at the weekend.

Good laddd!!!

Unfortunately i cannot make the Weekend of the 17th/18th as im attending a friends stag doo. Maybe worth a thread for people to show their preference (please dont go without mee!) haha :)

Tony: I dont know which day the last one was, but Sammyz really did well, i can barely remember getting stuck behind anyone... And if we were it wasnt for long. The main people getting suck was that Caterham R400, behind us!!! Nutter!

We didn't get 'stuck' for much time in reality as we either overtook (following the leader's indicator as per the 'Cruise Etiquette' on here, although one member of the party didn't trust it) or diverted for a couple of miles and rejoined ahead of the jam.

Over the weekend I think we only got properly 'baulked' about twice, but Sunday was sunny compared to Friday & Saturday, so had brought out more traffic.

Once by a petrol lorry between Aberystwyth & Dolgellau which would have been a simple overtake had the cars immediately behind him either overtaken or left a gap, so we turned up a B-road instead.

The second time was when three caravans were stuck behind a forestry tractor - one guy in a Saxo (not in our group) tried to overtake the lot only to be met by the tractor turning right, resulting in a very sideways and smokey Saxo that ended up at the back of the queue of cars once he'd sorted his soiled underclothes out.

I can promise a minimum of other cars on the roads we travel :) Ed's vote is for the 12th April then!

Monday's full of commuters - but after enjoying the N.E. run this weekend, I'm up for almost anything. :!:

There's the Chinese GP on the 18th so I'd prefer the week before too.

We went around Bala & did the Triangle again on Sunday and it certainly got busier as the day progressed, I think last time the key was the early start.

Count me in as long as Woots isn't allowed near the front :!:

Count me in too! I should be able to do any date really.
I'll make sure I fill up this time  That's the last 2 runs i've nearly ran out of petrol

Seeing the photos from last weekend (have been self :poke: for missing that one) and Andy's rave review of last year's meet I'd definitely be up for this!

Depening on how early an early start is, I may even pop up the night before :driving:

Also, with a 2.5... will I be made to go at the back with Woots?
