Mystery Wire?

I had an annoying squeak in the passenger drink holder so decided to remove the whole fitting an line it with some stripes of foam (worked a treat)

one thing i noticed when the unit was out was a wire/connector loose inside (pics below)

Anyone know what this is for?

That is in the centre console.

Nah - that's just a light showing the airbag is deactivated. To actually deactivate it you need to use the key in a keyhole at the side of the dash which is hidden when the door is closed. Means you can't turn it off my accident. I think it's a good guess, but didn't see a wire in mine when I had the vent out the other day :?
