mysterious misty wing mirrors

Hi I have a 2006 z4 coupe sport 3.0 and woke up one morning to find my passenger wing mirror has gone kind of grey and cloudy and seems to be made up of a thick plastic film. Does anyone know what has happended has the mirror fallen off or something? Any easy ways to fix?


 
Thats the mirror backing... The mirror has fallen off!

Get a replacement from ebay for a tenna.

I had a similar look mirror but only half way from bottom. Some water got into it. I played with the lower rubber seal and the water came out. All fine

Maybe this is the same case . Let us know what happens
 
Hi thanks I am pretty sure the mirror has fallen off just needed someone to say it because I never noticed it falling off! If I fit a replacement off ebay though will the defrosting still work or will I lose that if I just glue a new one on? I guess that's no big deal anyway. Will I have to get all this backing off it's pretty stuck down?
 
The defrost will still work.

Mine fell off which i caught in time - getting wobbly while driving on the motorway... I glued it with araldite and works fine.

You couldn't tell the mirror had fallen off? :lol:

I was expecting to see the glass blown when I read the topic title.
 
Buy replacement glass, apply liberal amounts of Bostick and apply mirror directly onto the membrane.
