Mysterious beep

I just bought my first Z4 yesterday - 2003, 3.0 6-speed manual. I love it! However, this morning it started to do something, and I need help. When I pull from a stop in first gear, it emits a single beep, and at the bottom of the left instrument cluster, 'MPH' flashes, along with '5'. It didn't do this on the drive home from the dealer. Any ideas??

I'm guessing you have OEM SatNav, I believe the speed limiter has been set to 5mph, it doenst stop you going over this but bleeps and displays as you have said.

Cant remember where it is off the top of my head, but under the computer section of the Nav Settings IIRC

Thank you so much - you are correct! I had been playing with the nav system and mistakenly set the limit to 5 mph. Thanks a lot for the quick fix!
