Hello, :D
You all probably remember my questioning about the Z4´s brakes. Well, I ordered a set os Drilled Zimmermanns on all 4 wheels, they came today and I just can´t wait to install them. For the pads I am currently looking for a set of Ferodo DS Performance or EBC redstuffs on the rear, kind of tough finding them so far :S

Are they cast with the holes in them, or are the holes drilled into blanks?

If the former, then great

If the latter, then watch out for stress fractures around the holes

mmm-five, hello, not found much about this but since they carry all the EU certifications (TUV, ISO ...) I would say cast, Zimmermann is a highly regarded brand in the region of braking

mmm-five, "Zimmermann cross-drilled rotors are not drilled by a machine shop, like most rotors you will find. They are drilled by the factory at the same time they are cast. This virtually eliminates cracking between the holes on these Zimmermann sport rotors, and makes for a great high-performance stopping power. They are made in Germany, and imported to the USA. We carry Zimmermann rotors for all Euro vehicles"

Do you guys know of any good e-shop for brake pads in the UK? I am looking for a set of EBC Redstuffs and I can´t find any for the rears here in CZ

there are loads of internet shops that sell them. Have you tried via the EBC website for a local supplier or one who will ship overseas?

I get 50% off EBC products as I'm a motorsport marshal - you could try signing up as a marshal/competitor and then using the contact info to get your discount. You'd have to quote your marshal's licence code though and that can take a few weeks to come through from the MSA.

Are these the ones you want? Is it the same pad for the 3.0 and the 3.0SI?

Here are the links to the EBC Direct website:

mmm-five, wow, thanks for the info  In tems of automobile parts such as brakes etc. I do not plan on staying with one brand, what I will do when I run out this set is go for Brembo rotors in combination with Ferodo pads - hey, I´m in college, it´s time to experiment :D

mmm-five, another question  , I put my engine type (2.5i) in and it only came out with GreenStuff and some OEM, are the Redstuff pads OK for a 2.5? BTW, 3.0i and 2.5i have the same pads dont they? :D Thanks in advance

The EBC part number for the OEM quality pads are the same (DP21211), so I assume the Red Stuff for the 3.0i (DP31211C) will fit the 2.5i caliper too!
The BMW part numbers are the same too (34116761244) for 2.0i, 2.2i, 2.5i, 2.5si, and 3.0i.
