Just had a cheeky glance through your thread! Looks a quality motor now!

How much was and where did you get that gear knob? It looks really good and chunky

Thanks for the compliance
The gear nob was also from German ebay but i cant find it on there any longer

Did you not get the kit from Sopers ESP ?

It is a really easy fit, though helps if you have both the forum guide and the BMW instructions. Jan_Tekin and I did both our cars in about 3 and a half hours yesterday

Sorry no part number.
It's a genuine 1 Series BMW M-Sport gear stick that's then modified to be illuminated.

I had some palpay credit so got it from eBay Germany for just over £100 delivered with wiring loom which I thought was good. I must admit I didn't try Sopers.
How much is it from them?

I love the car. Nice to see what my z4m could look like with some proper black headlights! Ever since having my 1.8 corsa c 51 plate which came with cruise control AS STANDARD!! I cant live without it. I fitted it to my previous z and my jags got it. Now I've bought an m which hasn't got it :( really need some kind forum member to come uo with a nice simple easy how to for me ;)

Sim_Simma, not sure it is possible to DIY cruise on the M - needs done by a pro from what I have read. A decent Indy should be able to do it in an hour or two I think though

DIY is possible, just need to get hold of a car that has had it retro fitted to trace the wires. Someone did send me a pic of the box in the engine bay, but not sure there is enough to proceed.

I have a CC loom though so that one day I can retro fit.

Highly off topic, but great choice on phone case!

I can't live without mine!

Lol that's ok!
I bought a cheap battery case off ebay before and it was awesome for the first week it worked. So then got the Mophie after that, it's expensive but worth every penny and more!! Don't know how I coped before with out one.

Looks like I'm going to get achy feet then  im sure it can and will be done dig eventually it just takes one person to do it and tell us! Haha, don't think I'll be the first tbh.

FINALLY!
I started this a week ago, its been such a epic FAFF, but finally its finished, tested and all put back together :driving:
I doubt itll get used much but im chuffed iv got a expensive factory option retrofitted for under £100

You've inspired me ESP. I am the least DIY mod person ever, EVER! Absolutely useless with this sort of thing and always envy such clever people who can work things out and then have the confidence to have a go themselves and make such a fantastic job of it.

However, I've just ordered the rear bulbs to swap over on the number plate and a stubby.

Car looks fantastic btw! Love the black and red combo and the quad pipes set it off a treat! Great thread
