Great work. How hard did you find the DA first time round?

I'm tempted to try but am wary of taking too much paint off!

I found it didn't really do much at first and I think I need to redo the car again at some point as there are some deeper scratches that remain but like you I didn't want to remove too much paint.

The pad combos and natty blue wax was easy to use to get a dust free finish and the car takes about 20/30 mins to wipe down now so well worth the effort.

Main things are read/learnt are ensure the car is super clean (clay bar, etc) then do small areas applying reasonable and even pressure, cable over your shoulder so it doesn't drag and keep the pad moving. Using a quick detailer to keep the pad moist helps prevent marring and reduces the amount of compound you need to wet the pad. Don't go near any edges either and be careful going over areas that have been repaired in the past :)

I practiced on my bonnet as it had a few stonechips that way if it messed up I'd have got it painted for £200-£250 and put it down to experience plus would have removed the stone chips ;) man logic...

Logic seems to check out imo

Cheers for that though, I might give it a go. Haven;t a sick day in 4 years....sadly we have no bonus scheme attached to attendance :(

thanks for the response ref the BBS type. Nice work all around and the wheels in Silver make a big deference to the look.

Love the blue/red colour combo and the wheels look great in that finish too, so much richer than ordinary silver. What colour did you ask the refurbers for, is it a hyper silver or something else?

Yeah I quite liked the plate just for fun factor if nothing else and it was purchased for profit so I stuck to it :)

The wheels are mercury chrome and the finish is what they use when refurbishing CSL wheels. I agree plain silver looks matt and a bit plain especially against metallic/pearlescent paint :)
