my z4m rear custom diffuser

i think your overanalysing it a bit.

All I'm saying is that I doubt if your part will function anything like a diffuser should for the reasons that I've given. But if you're happy with it that's OK with me

I know it doesn't. I posted it was purely a cosmetic part. I don't need anymore airflow or downforce than what the car already has. The speed limit on my roadways is 80km\h hahah 8)

Other options...

I have been speaking to http://www.rt-performance.com about them making a diffuser specific for the Z4(M) and they can Manufacture one to our specifications which should be a cheaper option than buying and shipping from USA

dubsesd diffuser
Fins 2.5" in height
Width 24"
Length 8"

rt-performance Universal diffuser which we can alter in size and finish
Fins 2.5" in height
Width 25"
Length 29"

However as i do not own an M i am not sure how we stand with the debate over the undertray and where the groves feed to?

Did we agree that dubsesd's diffuser was infact blocking airflow? if this is the case does someone have exact measurements and/or a picture of the undertray from a front to rear perspective?

The undertray for the Z4MC is Part 17 in the parts diagram. The best design of all would be to make a similar part to this with 4 vertical strakes on the underside which would be level with the floor and extending to the rear edge of the part. Should be easy enough for a manufacturer to make in ABS plastic, CF or GRP.

I just saw this thread and if anyone is in the NORCAL (San Jose, CA) bay area local owner and wants to drop by our shop, I'd be happy to do some test fitments for you and show you the product in person.

thanks for all the interest@! :driving:

29" is more like the sort of length it would have to be to have any noticeable aero effect.

Cheaper solution should you like the look.

After seeing the stunning car in the Darkside Z4Mcoupe thread, I did some digging and found this old post re: the rear diffuser. A few people said that they were ready to order one from EuroBoutique, is there any feedback at all from those guys as to how that worked out for them? Personally I love the mod, for aesthetic reasons only.

If it helps, I ended up going for the fins I linked above. Happy with the results... especially for £24

Just stuck on with 3M tape. I was worried they'd come off, but can confirm through thorough testing they are good for ###mph
