My Z4M Coupe arrived (through the post)

I've bought a few models over the years, a lot come from Germany. Believe it or not, over there they've got a thriving "modding scene" for model cars. There are stores where you can buy custom alloys, spoilers and the like. It's nearly as expensive to buy 1:18 scale alloy wheels as real ones

Can't help but feel that I'm happier tinkering with a real car!

What do you boys do with these things? Or is that a dumb question?

Now I can just see the point of model cars that you can build yourself, Tamiya and the like, but a static one you buy assembled and that sits on a shelf gathering dust, is less obvious to me.

My brother works in the toy industry, creating toys and spends a lot of time in Hong Kong, at a recent visit to his house, he showed me his collection of RC helicopters, about 9 of them, a few are palm sized which you can fly in doors......that, as an Engineer I can comprehend.

A few of us bought the Tamiya one, great fun to build & pretty speedy.. painted mine Imolarot but it too now gathers dust.

Wanted to do a youtube drag race of real vs toy but I'm scared whoever controls it will send it under my front wheels

Excuse for another small pic:

I just like to surround myself with nice things to look at. It's as simple as that :-)
