My Z4 was hit today....

I have owned my Z4 since June of this year. Today was the first time I've driven her to work.I parked her at 6:45 AM and when I walked towards her when I was off work, 3:00 PM, I see that someone has hit the bumper above the exhaust pipes! :x

I am so angry I could spit nails! Today hubby had to take one of our dogs to the Vet so I left the Equinox for him to use to transport the dog so he wouldn't have to transport the dog in my Z4 or in our 73 Corvette. :thumbsdown:

The Equinox is what I drive to work to save mileage and lessen the chance of my Z4 being hit.

I had a member of management come out to view the damage then called for a police report. Security will view the survilance tapes to see if he can actually see what hit my Z4. :evil:
 
Sorry to hear this.. sometime i think these people do it on purpose.

Hope it wasnt too badly damaged... Good luck getting it fixed.

Sorry to hear that! I'd be livid too. Best of luck finding the culprit and hope it doesn't cost too much to fix!

I hate it when people do that.They KNOW they've hit you but they take the cowards route and drive off and hope no one saw them.Ihope the CCTV got a good image of the culprit.ps Hope the dog's ok. :D
 
Security has still not viewed the tapes. I am going to get a bit more aggressive when I return to work on Monday and ask WHEN the video is going to be viewed. The police which wrote the report told me that he would view the video with security.
 
Wow, I thought it was bad when I was washing my week old baby today and noticed a ding on the hood. My baby won't ever see my workplace, too many imbeciles use our parking lot.
 
The police officer which wrote the accident report called me this evening telling me that since it was rainly heavily the day my Z was hit Wal Mart's security cameras can't idenify the vehicle which hit my Z.

Gezzzzz Wouldn't ya think a company as large as WM could afford top of the line security systems?

So now I'm gonna have to pay for the repair. I'm not sure I want to file a claim with my insurance company, deductible is $500 and cost of repairs is $800. Even though this is just a bender bender it will go down as an accident and if I want to sell or trade the Z a Car Fax will show the accident.

What would YOU do? :?
 
For $300, I would pay for it myself.

I assume that unlike the UK, your next year's premiums are not going up after a claim?
 
This "Road Hawk" thing I have fitted is a great tool for that .....

it records video front and back and G shock for any predetermined time after you park .............

I have Progressive and can tell you from experience that the claim would be classified as nonmoving, no points would be award, and you premium would not go up.
Granted I can't speak for other companies but, had three similar situations and Progressive was really great about it. Of course I had to pay the deductible.
 
I'd pay for it and not tell the insurance company.Not good but likely to be cheapest in the long run.
