My Z4 Journey.

In July last year I looked at the Z4 as a replacement for my current car (4 door saloon) But had second thoughts and dismissed the idea.
Fast forward to January and the itch was still in need of a scratch, so I contacted Stratstone BMW in Harrogate (dealing with the guy that sold me the 4door saloon but he`d changed dealerships) for a test drive.

Test drive went well and car ordered. Went into production very quickly and was delivered to the port on the 28 Feb and there it sat with LHam Lean Green Driving Machine for two and a half weeks, eventually catching a boat to the UK.

Car was delivered to the dealership early April and I took a trip over to see the car, this was a mistake, the car was brought round and I was a little dumbfounded by the state of the car bird droppings and transporter grime it looked grotty.

Prior to seeing the car I`d spoken to the with the guy that the dealership had recommended as a detailer, I`d initially asked for the roof protecting and ceramic coating, but after chatting with him, it was decided to PPF the front of the car, the top of the boot lid and ceramic coat the rest of the paintwork, the roof being treated with his go to treatment.

Salesman was away on holiday for three weeks, both he and I wanted to see the process through together, so it was agreed the delivery day would be the 24th April. Car went to the detailers on the Tuesday after Easter and thy guys a perfectionist. It became apparent that the 24th wasn't going to happen but we made plans for 11am today 28th April.

The prep, the car the journey the handover has been one I`ve enjoyed (except the dirty car) and all I can say is wow she shines. Here`s some photos of the car, the detailing and the finished product.

Sorry about the picture heavy post.

Regards to all
Mark

Congratulations Mark.

Thundernight looks fantastic in the metal but not always in photos, although the one outside the Woolpack looks great. We don't mind photos on here, it's a lack of photos we aren't so keen on!

You finally have it!! Congratulations it looks lovely, I think I might prefer thundernight without the black bits. I've been having great fun so far, it was well worth the wait

Congratulations and a lovely colour. I've seen a few other photos of cars looking rather unkempt when they arrive off a transporter so I suspect yours wasn't a one off.

Yeah the detailer was a perfectionist did the bonnet twice. The Salesman was fully booked for last Friday (25th) and wasn't in over the weekend so it was agreed the car would stay at the detailers over the weekend and that once it went into the handover bay it wouldn't be covered over.

Thank you. Yeah I was a little disappointed in the "first view" of my new car and I know @LHam didn't want to see hers till delivery day.

Congrats. I’ve recently switched to thunder night. Love the colour…..just seems to show the dirt more than my previous misano blue.

Enjoy the ride. She is a beauty.

Thank you, Im hoping the mix of PPF and ceramic coating helps keep her clean.

Congratulations, the picture with the black defender next to it, the colour just pops, it's the best one I've seen.

Congrats on the new car.

Looks great outside the Woolpack, but just had to crop the pic for a better image....
