My Z4 Dunlop Winter Tyre Test Video

Really?! Has anyone tried this to confirm that they'll fit?

I have 225 fitted on all 4 corners on my Z4Mr, after speaking to Darren.

The midlands has started having it's fair share of snow over the last few days. (Around 6" so far).

Had to fetch the Z4 from my mom's house after leaving it there for the staff night out on Friday. Anyway drove it back on these Yoko winter tyres and it was really planted. No real issues at all on some quite dodgy looking roads. Best thing I've bought in a while.

After driving the wife's Rover and then the Z, I opted to take the Z4 over to visit family at the hospital as it seemed to have more grip. Again I got home without issues, following some front wheel drive cars that were spinning the wheels.

I have these fitted.

A world away from the standard contis.

Well, a little update... raining like a mutha funksta here this morning, a lot of standing water on the back roads but the Dunlop's things deal with it superbly. Grip on a wet surface is excellent. Sections where the road is covered with a thin sheet of water, where I'd normally expect the car to feel a little light, with the Dunlop's it feels planted. Even large patches of standing water, the car pulls a little toward the water side, but nothing like standard tyres. This isn't a summer tyre / dry road experience but far better than I'd expected / hoped in the rain, and that's comming from Vreds which I thought performed superbly in the wet (although the Vreds are on a staggered setup, so not like for like).

Also, driving in the dry last weeekend, the temperature got up to 7° and there was a drop off in grip, but only when pushed hard and felt very progressive, I'd have to be doing something stupid for them to catch me out. Not sure how much better my standard tyres would have felt at the same temp.

All in the Dunlops continue to impress

Other winter tyres are available.

Excellent video. I live in the Pennines and interested in buying a Z4 but the snow is putting me off! After watching your video I am quite impressed and will be purchasing in the next few months!

I'm currently running a 2004 Mini on Hankook Icebear W440's
