My Z4 35i DCT has arrived!

So, after selling my 2003 Z4 3.0I I was in the market to do a substantial upgrade. Test drove a Porsche Boxster S 3.4 and was considering an SLK55 AMG or a Z4MC but in the end the toys and gadgets of the new shape as well as the laughably fun exhaust pops and bangs of the 35I drew me in! So after a week of waiting I arrived at the BMW dealer to be told my car was not ready so was loaned a 320i Touring for a week.....hardly the car I wanted! None the less, the 35i is here now and oh my god I love it.

Very briefly....it is much softer and certainly not hardcore but for the noise, the comfort, the straight line pace it's great!

Driving mine home tonight and the power delivery is so smooth and so instant and what a nose....had mine 3 years now and not bored one little bit.....still love it

Lovely looking Z'd. You will never tire of that sound I assure you. Infact I am addicted to the noise

I loved the engine note of the 03 3.0i but the DCT gearbox on the upchange and overrun is beyond addictive.

Just ordered myself a stubby aerial and a smaller (less BMW dealer) tax disk holder. I would really like to get some H8 20W bulbs so the running lights are white rather than the orange.........having spent a few hours looking it doesn't look like there is a clear cut answer as to what is good or not, more of an Ebay lottery?

Nice :):) Enjoy!

In comparison to E85 3.0i how does driving fun looks like? I mean on curvy roads :) I'm being torn apart between Z4M and E89. On the one hand, first one gives a raw driving experience, but new Z4 looks just stunning (both interior and exterior).

Thanks for the comments, took her for her first run today out to today and loved it.

Having put 8k miles on my 3.0i E85 I really wouldn't even say they are comparable. The E85 offers a much more back to basics, nice NA engine, slick gearbox, lovely sound, direct feel and to be honest for that special drive the E85 made me feel more excited.

As for the 35i it is softer, heavier, bigger but way mpre luxurious, substantial punch even from low down and of course the character of the 35i and DCT is just awesome. I do know that one day I will want a more precise weekend car (35i is a daily drive) but for 90% of the time the E89 35i is fantastic.
