My Z4 28i

Getting the front down another 5-10mm has made such a difference to my happiness with this car!

Boost issue all sorted and can’t wait to get to some summer meets / drives!

Thanks Andy, much appreciated! They’ve made such a big difference it was definitely worthwhile!

Looking very, very nice Steve. Can't beat a white/black combo, and the car just looks 'right' with the changes/mods you've made

Thank you very much! I’ve purchased some carbon fibre mirrors to see if I like them or not and hopefully they’ll tie in with the lip spoiler!

I’m still trying to keep it classy and for it to not look “chavvy” at all, I’ve seen a few other Z4’s over the last few days and they just look lovely completely OEM so sometimes I feel like I’ve wasted money / time and ruined it so it’s nice to hear compliments!!

I doubt anyone would call this chavvy, its a fine line but I think you are definitely the right side of it and black/white works better than other combos for the kind of mods you've made, I think what you've done is very much in keeping rather than a 'crashed through the Ripspeed warehouse' look that so many modded cars end up with ....

Really appreciate that :D

Car is looking great Steve. Thanks for replying to my various questions over pm.

Wondering if the above pics are with the Eibachs fitted? Perhaps it's my eyes but the car looks lower than stock..

Hi Steve. A really good looking motor tastefully modded.
Can I just asked a few questions as I am looking to start modding mine subtly too...
1. The stubby aerial - do you remember where you got yours and was it amplified in any way?
2. The stage 1 plug and play - I can't see the E89 model against any applications on the Burger-Tuning website. Do you recall which one you ordered? and did you fit it yourself?
3. I am wanting the centre silencer on my 3.0 M-sport S-drive removing - Do you get any popping and banging between gear change or on the over-run? (My dads Jag F-Type does it for fun and like the sound of it).
4. What air filter (if any) are you running?
I promise that's enough questions
Again really inspired by what you have done mate.
All the best :D

Hi mate,

No car was on stock suspension/ Tyres and no spacers in these pics!

I’ll send you some pictures with the various combinations I’ve run!

Hey!

Thanks!

No worries about questions!!

Aerial - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132475761335

Tuning Box - http://www.burgertuning.com/stage_1_bmw_performance_tuners.html but this won’t fit your 30i as mine is a 2.0 turbo.

Centre Silencer - Yes! It pops and bangs on over run beautifully and makes a like noise on upshifts! But again, very different engine so not sure what the noise will be like with the 30i.

Air filter - standard. I’ll put a KnN panel filter in at some point but I doubt it’ll make any difference, but at least it won’t need changing again!

Hope that helps!!!

Perhaps gloss black would tie in better with the other black trim on the car? :?
Rob

The more I look at the pics and then my sig pic the more I think I’ll be going back to white mirrors!

Hi Steve...what splitter did you get?

I had it made by a chap who does loads of VAG bits... he works for Rolls Royce so knows what he’s doing!

Carbon mirrors did end up coming straight off! They’re sat in a box in my loft if anyone wants to chuck me postage money and some beer tokens

Hi Steve

All though not a fan of white cars generally, your does look fantastic, really like the stance and minor modifications that you have carried out.
Definitely better with the white mirrors although I still like the old 326 wheels in your early pictures, (we all have our preferences and I am a bit of an old git in this respect)

My wife has a 2010 3.0M in red and I would love to modify it a bit when/if I can get her approval.
Can you confirm how you achieved the front and back levels/stance and what effect the revised suspension has had on handling and harshness of the ride.

I like the idea of doing the wing indicators in body colour red (copying your idea) but not sure what prep is required prior to painting, on either the chrome or black units.

We have the s drive but as Sarah drives round at 1000 to 2000 rpm the car changes gear far to early and throttle response is dreadful, in sports mode it is like an on/off switch. May try and see if I can do a reset and see if this improves things.

Dave
