I have 2 cats at my house and they tend to use the Z as a shortcut off the wall to the parking area (footprints on the roof).

My parents Ginger tom cat also loves to sit on the bonnet after a spirited drive to their house.
Not seen any damage but even as a cat lover it did piss me off after a wash to find paw prints on a clean black top
